Smart building sensors, meters and controls, device agnostic and chosen per site
Aqueduct hardware is the device agnostic sensing and control layer behind the platform: water, electricity and gas meters, air quality sensors, trackers, cameras, gateways and controllers that report over LoRaWAN, Modbus, BACnet, M-Bus, MQTT or pulse. Milvian AI does not sell hardware as its core business. The exact make and model is chosen per site, and partners install it.

Connect what you already run, add only what is missing, and keep every reading trustworthy.
Hardware chosen for the site, never for the catalogue
- Reuse first
Existing meters, BMS points and equipment connect wherever they already emit telemetry, so nothing that works is replaced.
- Fill the gaps
New meters and sensors go only where the site is blind, sized to the pipes, panels and rooms in front of us.
- No vendor lock
Devices are grouped by capability, so the exact make and model can change per site or over time.

Every device reaches the cloud the same encrypted way
- Two gateway types
LoRaWAN gateways serve long-range sensors and IP gateways serve Ethernet and Wi-Fi devices, with Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LTE backhaul.
- Mutual authentication
Links are encrypted at the link and network layers, and endpoints authenticate each other before any data moves.
- Field device controller
BACnet and Modbus equipment connects through a field device network controller that reports to the cloud over MQTT.

Know which device needs attention before the data goes quiet
- Health per device
Connection rate and battery or capacitor voltage are tracked for each device, so weak readings are visible.
- Pinpoint replacements
Teams know exactly which sensor at which location needs a battery or a swap, without walking the site.
- Commands on record
Where control is enabled, every command and its acknowledgment is kept in an auditable command history.

Building hardware, before and after Aqueduct
- Each system brings its own sensors, cloud and login.
- Changing a meter brand means rebuilding the whole integration.
- Old meters are read by hand once a month.
- Nobody knows a sensor died until its data is missed.
- Control commands vanish with no record they executed.
The Aqueduct way- Every device reports into one aQ Core data layer.
- Devices are grouped by capability, so brands can change per site.
- Pulse counters, bridges and camera reads bring old meters online.
- Device health flags weak signals and low batteries early.
- Every command is logged in an auditable command history.

IoT hardware brands we work with, chosen per site and never locked in
Aqueduct works with meters, sensors, gateways and controllers from a wide set of hardware brands, including Milesight, MultiTech, Synetica and Elsys.
Read moreDevice agnostic by design
Aqueduct is grouped by what a device senses or controls, not by brand. A water meter, an air quality sensor or a rooftop unit controller is selected for the site in front of us, the pipe sizes and panels it has, the radio coverage it allows and the systems already installed. You are never locked to a single vendor.
Anything that emits telemetry can be onboarded. Existing meters and building systems connect where they can, new devices are added only where the site is blind, and every reading lands in the same aQ Core data layer that drives the digital twins, baselines and actions.
How devices connect to Aqueduct
One secure path from the field to the cloud. Links are encrypted at both the link and network layers, with mutual authentication between endpoints.
Field devices
Meters, sensors, trackers, cameras, relay switches, valves and equipment controllers across the site, new or already installed.
LoRaWAN or IP gateway
A LoRaWAN gateway collects long-range wireless sensors. An IP gateway collects Ethernet and Wi-Fi devices. Backhaul runs over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LTE.
Field device network controller
For complex equipment such as AHUs, RTUs and chillers, a field device network controller speaks BACnet or Modbus to the equipment and MQTT to the cloud.
Aqueduct cloud
Each reading is decoded for its device model, mapped to the asset it measures and written to aQ Core, where twins, baselines and alerts read it.
Commands come back
Where control is enabled, with owner approval, commands travel the same path in reverse and every one is logged in command history.

Common questions
Not as its core business. Milvian AI builds Aqueduct, the software. Hardware is selected per site from the brands we work with, and installation runs through partners.
Anything that emits telemetry can be onboarded. Aqueduct connects devices over LoRaWAN, Modbus, BACnet, M-Bus, MQTT and pulse, and groups them by what they measure, so the make and model can change per site.
Yes, where they emit telemetry. Pulse meters connect through a pulse counter, Modbus and M-Bus meters through a bridge, and meters with no output can be read by a camera meter reader.
Wireless sensors report to a LoRaWAN gateway, Ethernet and Wi-Fi devices to an IP gateway, and complex equipment through a field device network controller. Gateways backhaul over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LTE.
Aqueduct gateway links are encrypted at both the link and network layers, and communicating endpoints use mutual authentication to protect data integrity and device identity.
Installation partners and system integrators fit and commission the devices. Milvian AI supports solution design and provides the platform, and does not install hardware itself.
Both. Relay switches and valves are driven over LoRaWAN, and HVAC equipment over BACnet or Modbus through a field device network controller, only where control is enabled and with owner approval.
